E5 motor room
« on: September 13, 2012, 05:41:28 AM »
Hello,

I'm thinking about how I could build my possible future E5. I read that the motor room should be 52mm. I'm thinking about EFLM60600A motor as a budget solution. But the overall diameter is 52mm.
Shall I forget this one ?

There is also Align 600MX 1220kv that could do the job but the shaft seems to be short.

Excepting Scorpion 4020 and 4025, are there other option ?

Best

The inner frame width is exactly 52mm.
You could make a 52mm motor diameter work with a few spacers but I would just stick with the 4020, 4025, and 4035 series motors. They are all slightly under 50mm can.

Thanks,

Matt

Hello Matt,

Thanks for your answer. I prefer to stay in the room dimension and not modify your engineering work. I will probably take a Scorpion HK-4025-1100. Was also thinking about the HK-4020-1100 that wokt like a charm on Logo 500 with power. But it's 5mm shaft only.

You can get a 6mm 4025 shaft kit and stuff it in your 4020.
You'll have to trim 5mm off the top of the shaft and grind a new flat.
