Sorry, just saw the post from Kevin that hit while I was posting the last thing.  I feel like we learn a lot from "almost crashes" and real crashes.  I've been lucky to save a few helis before.
One thing that helped me is the setting on RF that let's the helicopter malfunction. It helped me to prepare for anything that could happen. Plus the walkeras I had and Blade helis would fail a lot for no reason and that taught me a lot.  Glad no one was hurt in the situation with Kevin though.

Anybody try the orientation training? Seems like the flybared heli is very sensitive. I was wondering if its set up right or its just a flybar simulation?
Can't switch models that I know of.

While in the training screen or orientation screen hit the "~" key on your keyboard,  this will bring up a command prompt.  Type Loadvehicle Synergy E7 (or whatever model you would like to practice with) and hit the enter key.  The model you selected will load.  Hope this helps!

Nice tip Rich.  I didn't know about that one :D   Much better to use the training tools with what we actually fly!

Alan, I'm not sure anyone knows about it. The answers I found on the internet when I was trying to figure it out were, "it can't be done."

No.. Had a 9am Dr's appt so I went into work late today.  Had time to play at home this morning ;D
I work in nursing homes and carrying the Realflight transmitter around with my laptop might look suspicious ::)

I'm happy to see I'm not the only one who thought being able to practice with what you are flying was a good idea.  LOL  ;)

With all of the rain in the southeast it looks like all that can happen is sim time.  I cranked up some settings on the E6 and it handles more like my E5.  It would be great to have a version though.  Its fun to fly the other helis on RF but I prefer seeing something that looks and feels like the heli I own.

+1 on the tip.  Can someone tell me what the channel mapping for a T8fgs would look like in order to show actual movement on the stick on the the screen  right now everything works except throttle and pitch. In Idle up the remote on screen shows the left stick at current throttle level.  Thanks

Wow that's crazy. Great tip.

Getting back to the sim season.
Just ordered Parallels 9 and Windows 8.1 for my Mac. Going to see how it runs with out dual booting.  Also will be nice for hocking my main computer to the FLB units.

I run RF on both my mac book air and mac book pro. I have parallels on both as well as boot camp. On the air with parallels RF is too much for it and it lags.  Runs OK with boot camp. On the Pro RF will run both ways but performance is still better in boot camp. Both run windows 7.
For FBL software and castle link I use parallels.
The dual boot really doesn't annoy me. Both laptops reboot quickly. SSD drives make a difference.

Cheers

Thought to try it on my Mac Book Air was pretty sure it wouldn't run on on it in Parallels.  Wanting to run it on my Quad core mac pro or macbook pro. Should run fine.  Not sure where to put it as I'm only going to get one copy of Windows.

Well just ordered the heli mega pack for RF.  Hoping the N5C works pretty well right from the get go and I can use it as a practice 50 size model for my flying next year.  The E6 and E7 fly pretty well, but as a nitro guy I like seeing the ol' smoke on the sim and not having the crazy torque characteristics the electric machines bring to the table in the simulator.  Gotta keep those collective management skills (or lack thereof) in check :)
