E5 HC3SX settings
« on: June 13, 2013, 12:02:18 PM »
I recall someone on the board sharing there default settings for their Heli Command FBL unit but couldn't find it.. maybe it was over on HF.  I recently maidened mine and was curious to compare before I go and start tweaking. Anyone got a few minutes to reply with their current settings?

I have finally gotten mine flying reasonably well.  I will post the data or file this evening when I get home.

Cheers

Sorry Jeff.  It slipped my mind :o

Starting with the Tail Gyro Page:
Travel- Left 92, Right 95
Tail gain set in the radio is 85
Yaw Agility 11.  After flying this week I am going to bump it down to 10.  Just a bit too snappy!
Yaw Expo 3
Delay 1
P Gain 14
D Gain 4
Revo Mix 0

Rigid Page
Head Gyro 88
Gail Aileron 16
Gain Elevator 16
Agility 10
Initial response 4
Elevator Filter 2
Optimise for Universal
P Portion 15
D Portion 6
Attitude Hold Range 10
Decay Rate 7

I have 3D Acro set in the horizon page with the only change is the collective pitch travel for rescue as 9.

Cheers
Alan

Does it take a long time to get it set up to perform well?

For me it took 3 flights total and she was good. No elevator bobble and the tail held steady even in wind.

Hmmm, might have to think about using this as well.  I don't plan to jump on a unit until Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on when the 4th of July sales start.

I haven't had much of a chance to dial in on my E5 yet, but when I had it on my Trex 550 I had it pretty well dialed for sporting around with bailout in about 6 packs or so.  I'm still doing basic flips rolls and basic inverted stuff but the bailout saved my trex 550 when I lost orientation in some glare from the sun... Paid for itself right then basically

I'm still wondering if I will use the bailout if I get the ikon.  Guess I should try it since it is there, just don't trust things like that lol.

The bailout on the helicommand works very well. No experience with the Ikon.

I have the MSH Brain which is the same as the Ikon and it doesn't have bailout. It does have self leveling though which is one step towards bailout.  I have heard of flyers setting up the self leveling with mixes to try and recreate the bail out like feature of the HC unit. One note on the brain for the SL, make sure you don't forget to get it on a perfectly level surface and set the button that tells the Ikon what "level" means... otherwise you will get a surprise like i did with my protos when i flipped the SL switch mid flight to try it out  :-[

I am curious, how does the 3SX Bail out differ from MSH Brain self level? The 3SX doesn't have GPS so it can't hold a spot in the sky or bleed off forward momentum.  What is the definition of bail out?
